automatically redirected to this page if you perform an action that requires you to
be signed in – such as adding companies to your Free Hypermonitoring list or proceeding
to the Checkout if you chose to buy any reports.
If you already have a login account, you just have to enter your email address and
password and click Login in order to sign into your account.
If you have forgotten your password, click the ‘Forgot your password?’ and enter your
email address and click Submit on the screen which appears and we’ll email you the
password you set up previously.
If you don’t yet have a login account, click ‘Create an account now’. The screen
which appears requires you to provide your details and accept the (very short) Terms
and Conditions by clicking the box before clicking Submit.
The email address you enter is vital for you to receive your Free Hypermonitoring service
because we alert you to changes on companies in your Hypermonitoring portfolio by email.
You email address is also essential in order for you to receive any reports that you purchase.
After clicking Submit, you will be presented with a screen saying you need to check your
emails. Please do so.
When you create a new account (or change the email address) unt you should receive an email from
us that enables you to activate the account for the email address you have provided. Please click
the link to activate your account. This will take you to a ‘Welcome to Riskdisk screen’ confirming
that you account is now activated. Click Continue and you will be directed back to the page that you
were on before you created (or changed) your account.
If you wish to change your name, telephone number, email address or use a different password, click
My Account near the top on the left. By clicking on the Edit button in the relevant section, you
can change details as you wish.
The options bar at the top of the screen identifies the areas on the site. When
searching for UK Registered Companies, ‘Your Riskdisk’ should be highlighted orange.
To the left you will notice the navigation bar. This allows you to Search for a Company,
check Hypermonitoring status (see below), Search for a Director, perform a non-registered
business credit request (see below), or Log Off.
Companies may be searched for using the Company Search Details box. You may search by
Company Name or by Company registration Number. All UK companies have a unique number
and a unique name, both of which are to be found on the company’s stationery. Please
be aware that some companies have very similar names
Searching by Company Name using the default ‘Incremental’ Search mode can be the quickest
and easiest mechanism. Simply type in the first few characters of the Company Name you
are looking for and matching results (in alphabetical order) should appear in the list
below. Typing more characters will narrow the search or you can scroll the list or display
further pages if required.
If you change the Searhc mode from ‘Incremental’ to ‘Starts With’ you must enter whole
words and click the Search button. If you only enter one word you must be prepared to
browse a list, possibly involving several pages.
Searching by Company Number is more precise as only a single Company will be returned.
Enter the 8 characters of the Number, click the Registration Number button below the box
and click the Search button.
Click on the company you’re interested in from the list produced by your search. This will
take you to a new screen. Check the details to make sure this really is the company you’re
interested in. At this point you can add the Company to your Free Hypermonitoring list and, if
you wish, purchase a current report or document image.
The vast majority of companies are in England and Wales and have numeric company numbers. If
you are looking for a Scottish company, registration numbers begin with SC followed by 6 numbers.
If you are looking for a Northern Ireland company, registration numbers begin with NI followed
by 6 numbers.
If the Company you wish to find is Dissolved, click the Dissolved Companies box to the right before
you click Search. It is worth saying that although Company names are unique, they are unique only
amongst Non-Dissolved Companies. Once a Company is Dissolved, its name may be re-used by another
Company.
Clicking on Company Search presents you with the Company Search Details box.
The Riskdiskonline Free Hypermonitoring service provides a simple mechanism to enable you to keep track of
Companies in which you are interested. For example
-
your own business(es) – keep tabs on your Company’s credit rating and also receive alerts if
new documents are filed at Companies House – if you didn’t, then maybe somebody else is
attempting identity fraud?
-
your customers – just because a Company appeared to be a reasonable credit risk when you created
their account doesn’t mean they still are.
-
your competitors – as they say - ‘knowledge is power’
-
your suppliers – what impact would it have if a key supplier went out of business?
When you add a company to free Hypermonitoring you will then receive email alerts (if you activated your account
by responding the email sent to the email address you specified in your account set up) whenever there is a
significant change to the information we hold about that company.
You can also access your Free Hypermonitoring Portfolio any point after you login within your “My Riskdisk” area.

enabling you to make informed decisions.

| Title |
Formula |
Description |
| Acid Ratio (%) |
(Current Assets - Stock)/Current Liabilities |
This allows a view to be given as to whether a business has sufficient liquid
resources to meet its current liabilities. If the answer is less than 100% there could be a concern. |
| Current Liquidity (%) |
Current Assets/Current Liabilities |
Compares assets which will become liquid within approximately twelve months (total current assets)
with assets which will be due for payment in that period. Less than 100% could be a concern. |
| Debtor Days (days) |
(Trade Debtors/Turnover)*365 |
Shows how long it takes a business to get the money in - long periods can indicate poor credit
control or long payment terms. |
| Gearing (%) |
Total Debt/Net Worth |
Note other definitions of gearing are sometimes used. The percentage shows whether the company
is financed externally or from share capital and retained profits. The lower the percentage the
better as lower percentages mean a lower proportion of the company is financed externally. |
| Interest/Pre Interest Profit (%) |
Interest/(Pre Tax Profit + Interest) |
Indicates how much of the profits are taken up by paying loan interest. Too great a proportion
would mean that the company was borrowing more than was sensible as a small fall in profits would
mean the company was operating at a loss with the consequent effect on long-term solvency. |
| Pre Tax Profit/Shareholders' Funds (%) |
Pre Tax Profit/Shareholders' Funds |
This shows how much money the business is making relative to the capital shareholders have
tied up in the business. |
| Pre Tax Profit/Turnover (%) |
Pre Tax Profit/Turnover |
What proportion of sales are profit. |
| Creditor Days |
(Trade Creditors/Cost of Sales)*365 |
Will be very interested to see on average how long it takes their potential customers to pay
their creditors. The longer the worse it is. |
| Stock Turnover (times) |
Turnover divided by stocks held. |
This indicates how quickly stock is moving through the business. A slowdown compared with previous years might indicate problems. |
